of Empowerment of persons with Disabilities, under Ministry of Social Justice
and Empowerment, Government of India, is providing following Scholarship
schemes for students with Disabilities from Class IX to Ph.D. Students
including admission to Overseas Universities.
Pre-Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities.
Courses covered : Class IX and X
No. of Scholarships per Year : 46,000
Parental Income ceiling per Annum : Rs. 2,00,000/- (Two
Lakhs)
Rate of Scholarship : Scholarship of Rs. 350 for Day
Scholars and Rs. 600/- per month for hostellers plus book and ad hoc grant and
other allowances like Transport allowance, reader allowance etc.

Post-Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities.
Courses covered : Class XI to Master’s Degree or Diploma
Level.
No. of Scholarships per Year : 16,650
Parental Income ceiling per Annum : Rs. 2,50,000/- (Two
Lakhs fifty thousand)
Rate of Scholarship : There are different rates of
maintenance allowance for Post Graduate, Grduate, Diploma, Professional Courses
leading to degree, Diploma etc. in Different Disciplines. It ranges from Rs.
650 – 1200 Per Month for Hostellers and Rs. 400 to 550 for Day Scholars plus
tuition fee (Maximum ceiling Rs. 1.5 lakhs per annum), book allowance and other
allowances like Transport allowance, reader allowance etc.

Scholarship for TOP CLASS EDUCATION for Students with Disabilities.
Courses covered : Post Graduate Degree Or Diploma in 240
Notified Institutions of Excellence.
No. of Scholarships per Year : 160
Parental Income ceiling per Annum : Rs. 6,00,000/- (Six
Lakhs)
Rate of Scholarship : Monthly maintenance allowance of Rs. 3000/- Per Month
for Hostellers and Rs. 1500/-for Day Scholars, Rs. 2000 per Month Disability
Allowance, BOOK grant of Rs. 5000/- per annum and tuition fee upto 2 lakhs per annum.

National Overseas Scholarship for Students with Disabilities.
Courses covered : Post Graduate Degree and Doctorate Degree
in Foreign Universities abroad.
No. of Scholarships per Year : 20
Parental Income ceiling per Annum : Rs. 6,00,000/- (Six
Lakhs)
Rate of Scholarship : Monthly maintenance allowance of Pound (Great Britain)
9,900 per annum for UK and US $15,400 for other countries, plus Tuition fees,contingency
allowance, cost of air passage etc.

Courses covered : M.Phil/Ph.D
No. of Scholarships per Year : 200
Parental Income ceiling per Annum : No Income Ceiling
Rate of Scholarship : Monthly Rs.25,000 for JRF(First Two Years) and
Rs.28,000/- for SRF and book allowance
and other allowances like Transport allowance, reader allowance etc. are
applicable.
